Daddy is my Hero

My husband was fired from his job yesterday. It is, bizarrely, all over gaming news sites and even made it as far as Forbes. It’s surreal, it’s terrible, and it hurts deeply. This was meant to be our life. Our baby was supposed to grow up a Nintendo baby. His daddy had the coolest job in the world! This grieving process feels almost like there was a death in the family, and it’s going to take a lot of time for our hearts, most especially my sweet husband’s heart, to heal and move on. He thinks that he has failed his son and let his family down. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. He tries so hard for us. He has provided us with so much, and we have savings to get us through this rough time thanks to his hard work. He will find something else. Perhaps it will be even better. Perhaps not. But his sweet baby will love him regardless, because he’s his daddy. He’s a hero because he loves his son’s mama well, he is present and active in his son’s life, and he strives to live with integrity, honesty, and humility. Come to think of it, he’s my hero, too.

  1. Wishing good luck for all of you.
Sometimes a hard fall it’s bitter, too bitter, but in the future, could be a blessing disguised.
